2017 and it seems like age discrimination is alive and well, unfortunately. This recent NPR piece by Ina Jaffe, sheds some light on the subject. What are mature job seekers supposed to do? How about employers? There are steps mature job seekers can take, such as not including education dates on resumes/applications, or ensuring they are up to date on the latest technology, but anything like this only goes so far. Employers need to eliminate the practice and truly age proof

Do you know if you are in compliance with federal and state wage laws? Recently, a local company found itself in hot water (so did the lobster) and is paying dearly. UnWrapped pays huge fine. A good way to ensure that you are in compliance is an audit of your existing staff, checking to see that they are classified correctly (exempt or non-exempt) and paying them for all hours worked, accordingly.
